CLOUSTON Associates developed the landscape and urban design documentation for a major intermodal facility at Wickham Station in Newcastle. Opened in 2017, the facility connects heavy and light rail, bus, coach and taxi facilities.

Integration with all transport modes has been critical to the success of the project, not least because the station is the gateway to Newcastle’s CBD. The new civic forecourt and plaza is designed for efficient pedestrian circulation and intuitive wayfinding in a green and light-filled sheltered space.
