Heritage restoration after the bushfires
After the bushfire devastation of the Blue Mountains in 2019, Clouston Associates were engaged by NPWS to provide Master Plan and design development through to project delivery services.
The result is a captivating visitor precinct that boasts upgraded facilities within a safe and easily accessible environment for all. This design pays homage to the unique natural heritage and strikes a delicate balance between visitor experience and conservation efforts, ultimately enhancing the World Heritage values of the broader Blue Mountains. Traditional ironstone walls and arches are restored in the bookleaf style iconic to Blackheath. New planting and turf viewing mounds provide the setting to entice visitors to stay for more than just the amazing view.
