The Liverpool Hospital Southern Entry Forecourt is a biodiverse urban space designed to provide respite for both patients and staff.

CLOUSTON Associates led the design and documentation of this forecourt. Climate resilient features have been incorporated in the design, with lawns, planting beds, and trees supported by underground wicking beds that capture and store roof water, helping the landscape thrive year round.

Designed for comfort throughout the year, the space will evolve into a shaded retreat with a tree canopy providing summer relief while allowing sunlight in winter. Popular picnic tables and a variety of seating options further establish the forecourt as a welcoming haven within the hospital precinct.
